Abstract

A prospective study was conducted in order to reveal the characteristics of the type of attitude towards the disease of patients with schizotypal disorder depending on the spectrum of the existing affective pathology by analyzing its clinical-psychopathological content.

Materials and methods. During 2019-2020, 100 patients of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Psychiatric Hospital who were at the outpatient stage of treatment for schizotypal disorder were examined; clinical-anamnesis, clinical-psychopathological, psychodiagnostic and clinical-statistical methods were used to solve the set goal. The study contingent was divided into three groups: study group 1 (G1) included 52 patients who were diagnosed with unipolar psychopathological symptoms of the depressive spectrum; study group 2 (G2) included 16 patients who demonstrated a cyclical change of depressive and hypomanic phases; the last 32 patients formed study group 3 (G3) – they showed clinical signs of affective flattening.

According to the results of the study, it was established that hypochondriac variants of response to the disease were more typical for G1 patients: isolated hypochondriac (7 patients) and combined anxious-hypochondriac (10 patients) types of attitude to the disease were more common here. For G2 patients, isolated anosognosic (5 patients) and combined euphoric-anosognosic variants of the relationship to the disease (2 patients) were specific. A specific variant of the relationship to the disease for G3 patients was anosognosic (18 patients).

Conclusion. For patients with schizotypal disorder with predominance of unipolar depressive symptoms, anxiety-hypochondriac variants of response to the disease are characteristic, for patients with circular changes in affective phases – euphoric-anosognosic variant, for patients with states of affective flattening – anosognosic.
